My favorite part of our garden is the lemon trees. Where my neighbours have gazebos and conservatories taking up room in their garden, we grow fruit in ours. There is one tree that grows regular lemons and one that grows really sweet “Meyer” lemons. In the spring they blossom and the blooms have the most beautiful, fresh fragrance. Hummingbirds love the lemon trees as much as I do and you can often see them flitting about the branches. There are other fruit trees as well, including a fig tree and a persimmon tree, but the lemon trees are the most fun. They have fruit on them almost all year long, so we rarely have to purchase a lemon at the grocery store. Our garden has some other interesting things as well. There are a number of really nice rose bushes and irises. We have some large cacti and lots of succulent plants like jade plants. There are lots of birds and butterflies in our garden so it always seems very alive and in-motion. If you look closely you may see a lizard scampering about as well.
